Are you able to Work from Home?

Working from home sounds like the idyllic job. You are the boss and only answer to yourself. However, do you have what it takes?

Determination:
You will have to be determined to succeed at working from home. You will have to set your hours and put in the time regardless of how beautiful it is outside, or how much you want to stop and play with the kids or watch that movie.  You are running a business!
Dedication:
You will have to be devoted to making it work. You are the only one in charge of putting in your time and doing the work. If you do not do the job, you will not get paid.
Family and Friends:
Your family will have to work with you. If they come in the room and want to watch the television, you will have to tell them that you are working, and they will need to understand this. That is, of course, providing you do not have a dedicated office to work from. When you work from home, all your friends and family will think that you are always available for them, since you do not have to go to a regular office every day. They will tend to ask you to do heaps of little chores, and they might get upset if you refuse. Something you need to make clear from the very beginning. You loved ones need to understand that working from home means that your home and office just happen to occupy the same space. Ask them to respect your schedule and not bother you with all sorts of requests during work hours.
Schedule:
If you are working at home, it is even more important to have a schedule. You will need to set your work hours, breaks including your lunch, and stick to them.
Exercise:
It is easy to forget to get out of the chair and move. Exercise is an important part of your life. Whatever your old schedule was for exercise, you will want to make sure and incorporate it into your new schedule. It is easy to forget and get out of the habit, but it is essential to your health.
Work Space:
Whether you use a corner in the living room, the spare bedroom or have a devoted office space, you will need to have a work area.
Working from home takes determination, guts, scheduling, and effort, but it can be a great thing when done right.

                                                                   Downsides Of A Home Business

Everybody can figure out the advantages of working from home. From the time saved commuting to the money saved because of not needing business outfits anymore, we can all see why working from home is good. However, we tend to forget the negative side of the matter. Many times, working from home brings solitude. If your business is something you do on your own, usually with no team involved, you may end up longing for someone to talk with. It is always fun to share ideas and brainstorm solutions in a group rather than doing it solo. You can involve your family and friends, but since they do not know the specific details of your business, they will not be able to help you much.
When you run a home based business, you tend to neglect the way you look. Why dress up if there's nobody else to see you? Why shower, when there's no one else but you to notice that? This danger is bigger than you would think, but with a bit of attention to such details, you can overcome it. Just don't let yourself go with the flow of laziness, have active principles and stick to them, even when nobody else is watching.
Procrastination is another danger of working from home. It is easy to get distracted when you have a pile of dishes in the sink waiting, or when you suddenly notice your flowers look a bit sad and might need watering. You may say a few ten-minute breaks cannot slow you down too much. You are wrong. You will tend to take way more breaks, so you will end up wondering why you had not gotten that much done. Try to have working hours in chunks of at least 30 minutes, followed by 10-minute breaks. If you can, make the work intervals one hour long. You will notice a boost in productivity from the very first day.
